2. Chinese company joins Bumi for mining projects

PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), through its subsidiary PT Dairi Prima Mineral, made a joint project contract with China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering & Construction Co, Ltd (NFC). Both companies agreed to construct lead and zinc processing facilities in North Sumatra Province.


3. 87% kindergartens prone to abuse cases, survey shows.

According to a poll conducted by Indonesia Research Foundation, 87% of the surveyed kindergartens are prone to abuse cases. The poll, involving 100 kindergartens, was revealed following the recent sexual abuse case on a 5-year-old pupil at a kindergarten operated by the Jakarta International School in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta.


4. Government yet to agree state bank acquisition

Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said that his ministry has not discussed the possibility of Bank Mandiri's acquisition to Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN). "I have to summon minister of state-owned enterprises to discuss the issue," said Minister Hatta today. 


5. Asian stock markets started the week on a subdued note on Monday.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan inched down 0.1 percent. Japan's Nikkei stock average rose 0.9 percent on the back of a weaker yen, according to

news agency.
